US Department of State Worldwide Security Upgrades

Survey and assessments were conducted of 33 embassy compounds and consulates around the world and, for 16 of these, site-specific recommendations were developed and designs for security improvements, including replacement, augment, or upgrade of existing security measures including perimeter security and public access control were detailed. The designs blended with existing buildings and the local architecture of each specific site, while often fitting into cramped urban settings. Construction at all sites had to accommodate the working post staffs, as well as the many different customs and cultures of each country.
